Dedicated to the memory of Georgie
This site is a tribute to Georgie Davis (née Johnson, previously Miller), who was born in Strood, Kent on November 24, 1926. She was a good old girl who did her best (she wanted to be remembered with these words). She is much loved by many friends and family, and will always be remembered.

She was wonderful, she saw us all grow up, and her reasonableness, huge character and worldly wit, I will never forget. One in a million.

She was such a big part of our childhood and as a young girl quite the influence on me. I remember well and fondly the times when Mum and I would help her out in Godalming at one of the many jumble sales she was organizing for some worthy cause. She was always spritely, enthusiastic and so warm. I always felt impressed by her and there were many things to learn, all positive. Quite the adventurer and living life to the full. I think that way when I think of you too. As they say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

I can't remember specifically the last time I spoke with Georgie, but my over-riding memories of her are of her cheeky smile and the glint in her eye. She was always so welcoming to us straggly teenagers and her kitchen was always a happy place with offers of tea and biscuits.
